Descriptive Essay.
My Dad.

I want to talk about my dad, mainly, because I think the fathers are not recognized, as they deserve. My father is obviously important for me. He is strong, hard worker, dedicated, patient, loving. He is a good father. Because he has taught me many things about work, studies and life; very important things and that is why I admire him a lot.

My dad’s name is Alfredo. He was born in 1952 in Aguascalientes. He told me that was a very good era, everything was more simple. He was born in a large family (8 brothers and 4 sisters) but he told me that was the way in those days without T.V. I look like he when he was 17 years old: middle height, brown skin and little eyes, but he is very different today: He is shorter than me but he is robust and is very strong because his whole life has had a hard work. He is a bit old now: He is 60 years old. His hair is mainly grey and a few white but he had black hair yet. His face is hard but at the same time his eyes (of a very dark brown color, almost black like mine) are full of affection. He has some health problems but is very strong physically and mentally because he does not complaint.

He works selling sliced fruit out of schools and different events like parties and celebrations like Day of the Dead or the San Marcos Fair. He starts very early in the morning before the sunrise. We have a handle car, is a rectangular base with two wheels covered by a tent, in this one my father transports the fruit during the workday. He also sell chips and ice flavored glasses, but mainly fruit. He starts the day washing the car with soap, water and chlorine, and then he accommodate the things over this: very sharp knives, syrup bottles, buckets, a cooler, etc. Then he prepares the fruit.

He sells many kinds of fruit: oranges, watermelons, melons, pineapples, jicamas, mangos, papayas, sometimes pomegranates but not frequently. I like almost all the fruits he sells because he knows how to select the best fruit. He always buys the biggest, redder and juiciest watermelons and the sweetest melons and pineapples. The jicama is tasteless but he prepares it with lemon juice and spicy/sweet chamoy and is delicious. He is a good worker, very responsible and he likes his work. But he is a better father than worker because even he finishes his work late at night he always ask us about our days and the school. He is never so tired for us.

Conclusion:
I think there are not enough good adjectives for describe my dad. He is literally a good dad: worker, loving and strict when is necessary. Try to describe him is easy but at the same time difficult because I know him but I don`t know how to write how wonderful he is with simple words. If I looked like me when he was young I hope to be like him when I grow up.

Refection:
I think to write a descriptive essay is harder than a narrative essay. In the mind the whole things we think in the present are made of facts and we use to form a story (a narration) but when we need to describe something that we saw we need to use adjectives for help us to do it. The adjectives are the most important part of a description and these could be about shape, color, taste, smell, etc. And is a little hard to try to remember all of them or some of them when you need in the writing process if you don`t have enough practice.
